The start of upcycling

Today I had a thought about something.  Why buy some cheap and nasty modern MDF furniture when there is so much neglected vintage furniture out there.  Hence Former Glory was born.  My vision is to lovingly restore items to their former glory (hence the name).  I love to think about the history of a piece.  It could only be 30 years old but it still has a history and has certainly outlasted the life expectancy of a any of today's furniture.  As I am restoring I will be blogging about my adventures and will include a before and after picture.  All of my items will be for sale once I have completed them.  You can rest assured that they are all quality items and the finish will be impeccable.

I'm currently working on a 1930's curved display cabinet that is looking a little tired.  It is going to take a bit of elbow grease and time but I really think it will look fantastic in any ones lounge.

It's all about restoring, reusing, and not wasting our heritage.  In today's climate the trend should be for reusing items as much as we can.  On with the crusade!!

These are a few of the pieces I have finished.  Their stories will follow in the next blogs.  Each one of my pieces will come with a before photo and a story attached.  They will be named and are all restored with love and care.
